Why do we find women's feet so sexy?

What is it about feminine feet that is so sexually arousing?  Why do so many men have a foot fetish?

The standard explanation usually given is that foot worship has something to do with submissive tendencies in the admirer.  Perhaps that is true.

It is not hard to imagine that kneeling in front of a women, taken her soft feet in the palm of your hand and lowering your lips to her gentle toes is an act of obedience, submission, worship even.

If a man kneels in front of his woman and takes her toes into his mouth, it is very similar to the pose a knight might take in front of his queen.

But is it just submissive worship?  Many foot fetishists display no other submissive tendencies.

Another perspective is that the feminine foot is a representation, a microcosm of the female body itself.  A well presented foot has a perfect hourglass shape, is soft and silky smooth, with delicate presentable toes that yearn to be pampered and looked after.  The shoe is more than an ornament for the female foot.  It is a dress this symbolic female form wears.

 By slipping on an elegant set of formal high heels with open toes a bare foot is transformed into a sex bomb waiting to crush men's hearts.  By taking off the killer heels and slipping on thong sandals, or strappy shoes the female foot is again transformed into the "girl next door".  Quiet, gentle, in need of a massage.

Maybe it is just how a woman's foot tastes on your tongue?

Maybe it is the forbidden fruit aspect?  While other men stare at cleavage, the foot fetishists are usually able to get a good unhurried look at a woman's feet.  And some women love to flirt and reveal.  A small amount of toe cleavage on the subway to work.  A heel dangled from the edge of her toes.

Maybe, just maybe, the foot is the most beautiful part of a woman.
